Ananta Burin – A review of a family friendly resort

Ananta Burin is a hotel that makes for a perfect holiday with kids with its family friendly environment and 4 star facilities.

Krabi has been a mainstay for many a holiday maker decades, although the customers have changed in recent years. There are still plenty of activities and lots of development going on in order to satiate the demand for holiday lodgings.  Our team had the opportunity to cast our collective eye over Ananta Burin, which is centrally located in Aonang, Krabi. It’s just a 5-minute walk from Nopparat Thara Beach and 6 minutes by foot from Ao Nang Beach.

Recreational opportunities inside Ananta Burin abound with a complimentary water park of two slides. The first slide measures in at 5 meters tall and the second 8 meters tall. In total there are 2 pools and a Fantasy pool, perfect for families as the kids will be absolutely entranced with the slide pool. Rest assured, this is literally hours of fun for the kids, whilst the parents can enjoy the swim up bar below. This is going to certainly be an advantage if you have a horde of kids to keep entertained!

The rooms are well appointed, of particular note is the large area reserved for both luggage and a very decent sized writing table. Should you need to get any work done, you will take comfort in working from this hotel.  The bathrooms are pleasant with the luxury of a bathtub as well as a shower, something that is rarely seen at this end of the market.  The beds are comfortable with a mattress that sits rather well between not too hard and not too soft, something Goldilocks would be proud of!  Our Ananta Burin rooms had views of the Fantasy swimming pool, not so bad when compared to many 4 star resorts.  Overall it rates highly in terms of being clean and comfortable,

Ananta Burin’s location is convenient to both the main beach as well as Nopporat Beach, sitting in between the two.  You can hire motorbikes or scooters locally to fully engage in what Ao Nang has to offer. If you are more adventurous you can head to Klong Muang and perhaps stop at The Treehouse Coffee shop.  For the true thrill seekers you can travel by motorbike to either the Emerald Pools or Krabi Hot Spring. But be prepared, with journey time over 2 hours each way, this will take a full day. Another optionis afull day trip to Koh Lanta with more time spend on the bike.

Food for the Family

As we all have experienced, finding a good breakfast can be a challenge at time. We found it reassuring to know that Anantara Burin includes breakfast as part of your stay.  Now we are not saying it’s a 5 star breakfast, but it’s certainly more than adequate, when compared to some of the immediate local offerings..and well on par with the price of the stay.  Great variety of continental, cereal, fried & Thai food.  If you’re after Halal food, at the end of the street is a night market, with plenty of Halal options.

If you are looking for a mid market rate with comfortable settings, clean rooms and good facilities. and a family friendly central location is up your alley.  Then Ananta Burin might be just what you are looking for, it’s convenient to many of the attractions of Aonang and its only a walk (or a stumble) home from some of the great venues dotted around the beach area.
