The 10th Agricultural Fair and OTOP event is held during February 20-26, 2022, at Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization, being a center for cooperation among the government, private sector, and people in promoting and developing careers in agriculture.
Mr. Puttipong Sirimat, Governor of Krabi Province presided over the opening ceremony of the 10th Agricultural Fair and OTOP event in Krabi Province, with the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Government agencies, private sectors, clubs, and associations. Mr. Kittichai Engchuan, Deputy President of Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization, also spoke at the center stage at Lan Phra Arthit, Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization
Mr. Puttipong Sirimat, Governor of Krabi Province, said that Krabi Province together with the Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization sees the importance of jointly developing the farmer sector and upgrading the products of one district, one product; therefore, the collaboration with government agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in Krabi Province Government agencies and private organizations has led to 10th Agricultural Fair and OTOP event in Krabi Province. OTOP and other products and services are showcased through an exhibition space where sales of goods and services can be found, and producers and consumers are connected, increasing marketing channels for agricultural products, OTOP products, other products, and services. The encouragement of ‘GO GREEN’ for OTOP products is seen as a new standard setting for product and career development. The activities in the event include exhibitions by various departments, academic training seminars, and various types of competitions and contests.
The governor of Krabi Province and his party participated in judging the best prize for the best yellow Krabi Naree shoe orchid, and 1-2 best yellow orchids, and presented the prizes to the participants, namely Mr. Kraisri Israngkun Na Ayudhya, President of the Naree Shoe Orchid Club of Thailand, and Mr. Nattawat Square Phaiboon, and the trophy of the winner of Krabi Province of the rubber tapping competition. Then, the governor visited the exhibition booths to encourage entrepreneurs, and tasted Roti with goat curry, the main menu that generates income for goat farmers from the Goat Shepherd Club.
The distribution of agricultural products and OTOP products, agricultural machinery, food, and general products has made OTOP producers and entrepreneurs earn more income, and distributed income to local communities as they had an opportunity to bring agricultural produce, livestock, fishery, etc. to the forum of contests and competitions to develop their own products, to increase their capacity in the competition, and to prepare manufacturers and entrepreneurs to have knowledge and understanding in building a strong network of producers encouraging one another towards sustainability.
