Batik Tie-Dye training available from February 22 – March 4, 2022

Krabi Province Administration in collaboration with a team of lecturers from Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, has organized a Krabi model project, Batik Tie-Dye training, to promote a career in Batik Tie-Dye production for people who are interested.

Puttipong Sirimat, Governor of Krabi Province, presided over the opening of the training to promote a career in batik Tie-Dye production at the Morakot Room, Krabi Royal Hotel Mueang Krabi District Krabi With Krabi Province. Krabi, together with the agencies and network members, implemented a community innovation project that develops a basic economy and mitigates the economic impacts of the 2019 coronavirus epidemic by focusing on agricultural development and household products such as oil palm, goats, feather seaweed, net mushrooms and batik, which can promote the local economy, which in the end will allow the community to become financially self-reliant.

The target participants to receive the training consist of manufacturers, OTOP entrepreneurs in the fabric type, people who do not have work, low-income earners who would like to make batik cloth as a career, and any who live in Krabi. The 11-day training accepts 35 people from February 22 – March 4, 2022, at Krabi Royal Hotel, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province.

The practice is at the Dalah Batik Group, Mueang Krabi District, with a team of lecturers from Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The participants also get to learn how to design the cloth with the integration of Krabi identity with making patterns, as well as attending a block screen mold making course, a batik candle writing course, and a course on making Batik Tie-Dye with natural dyes.

Krabi Province Administration is working on promoting and developing other careers as well in fisheries, livestock, plant cultivation, land development, water resources development, and providing assistance in various fields to farmers of a total of 1,388 cases covering 8 districts.  The administration aims to promote a work collaboration among related agencies and actively follow up on project implementations.
