Government announces neutral stance on Russo-Ukrainian crisis

The government has announced Thai neutrality toward the Russo-Ukrainian crisis following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February, As well as plans to sustain the economy of Thailand, particularly on energy prices and animal fodder.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha convened an urgent meeting with his deputies and key agencies to discuss recent developments in Ukraine, where tensions continue to rise.

Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow said the Kingdom will also increase fuel reserves to mitigate the impact of the conflict on Thai citizens.

Addition to gas price rising another big problem is more than 20% of world animal fodder is produced in Ukraine. Prime Minister of Agriculture Chalermchai Sri-on said that currently Thailand is producing our own animal fodders and looking to minimise import from other countries ass well.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, most Thai nationals were evacuated from Ukraine to neighboring countries such as Poland, Romania, and Hungary and now are ready to move back to Thailand. According to Thai Ambassador to Poland Chetthapan Maksampan, statement the first flight that consisted of Thai nationals evacuees flew from Poland to Thailand started on 1 March and now planned to further evacuated all of the Thai nationals who registered to go back to Thailand within this week.
