The Ministry of Interior has announced a nationwide Walk, Run, Cycle event on July 28 to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday anniversary. This initiative, featuring the Royal Emblem Flag, aims to bring together participants from all provinces in a demonstration of loyalty and appreciation for His Majesty. The event promotes physical health through exercise, with participants engaging in walking, running, and cycling across 72 designated routes, utilizing a total of 720 bicycles distributed throughout the country.
The event will begin in ten border provinces, each selected for their significance related to the royal duties performed by His Majesty the King. These provinces include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani, Sa Kaeo, Trat, Yala, Satun, and Kanchanaburi. Participants from these provinces will initiate the relay of the Royal Emblem Flag, passing it to neighboring provinces in a symbolic gesture of unity and respect.
The event will culminate in a grand ceremonial procession at the Ministry of Interior, where flags from all routes will be incorporated into a sacred water ceremony. This final assembly is intended to symbolize national unity and reverence for the monarchy.
In addition to the main activities, each starting province will host a variety of events to honor His Majesty the King and encourage community involvement. These activities include the ceremonial handover of the Royal Emblem Flag, exhibitions celebrating the monarchy, screenings of royal documentaries, and volunteer initiatives aimed at promoting health and unity.
Officials and dignitaries will be present to oversee and participate in these activities, enhancing the sense of occasion and community spirit throughout the event.
