Six Arrest Warrants Issued in Oil-Smuggling Case

Six individuals, believed to be the masterminds behind an oil-smuggling operation, have had warrants issued for their arrest following a review of evidence, Crime Suppression Division (CSD) Deputy Commander Pol Gen Anek Taosupap announced during an urgent meeting on the case.

The investigation revealed that the six suspects had been orchestrating the smuggling of boats from the harbor since early May. According to Pol Gen Anek, two of the suspects have fled abroad while the remaining four are still in Thailand. He provided this update on Wednesday.

“We anticipate forwarding the case to the prosecutor by Friday, or at the latest, next week,” Pol Gen Anek stated.

The suspects face charges as principals and accessories to a crime.

Sahachai Jiensermsin, known as Jo, is alleged to be the leader of the oil smugglers. He was questioned about allegations that he had assistance from a national politician for an escape plan. Police have confirmed that they will move forward with prosecution as soon as the evidence is officially compiled.

The remaining crew members, who fled after stealing the boats, escaped on another vessel. Authorities are currently tracking their whereabouts.

The urgent meeting, where these details were disclosed, was attended by several officials and key figures involved in the investigation.
