The harrowing episode began with the abduction of a woman named Pa (alias) from her home in Rong Wiang Subdistrict. The kidnapper, identified as Pa’s estranged husband Phong (alias), carried out the abduction at gunpoint, firing his weapon before fleeing with the victim.
Police quickly tracked Phong to a remote location in Mae Lao District, Chiang Rai, where he had taken refuge in a hut owned by Thak (alias), a known criminal with a record of drug trafficking.
