The country stands just behind New Zealand, Greece, and Italy in the “adventure” category of the US News 2023 Best Countries rankings, solidifying its reputation as a premier global tourist destination.
In the broader spectrum of the Best Countries rankings, Thailand secured the 29th spot, evaluated across multiple criteria including cultural influence, entrepreneurship, and quality of life. Switzerland, Canada, Sweden, Australia, and the United States lead the overall list.
Recent accolades extend further with Bangkok named the top city in the Asia-Pacific region by a regional magazine, while Phuket and Samui earned high marks among top island destinations. Additionally, CEOWORLD magazine has crowned Thailand as the top country to visit in 2024, and BeachAtlas highlighted Phuket’s Maya Beach among the world’s top five beaches.
