Thailand Gains UNESCO Recognition for Tomyum Kung and Kebaya

Bangkok, 11 December 2024 – Thailand’s cultural heritage has received global recognition with the inclusion of Tomyum Kung, a renowned Thai dish, and the Kebaya, a traditional garment with cultural ties to southern Thailand, on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The announcement reinforces Thailand’s position as a leading cultural and travel destination.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) highlighted the significance of the accolade, noting its potential to enrich the country’s tourism offerings.
