Pattaya Tiger Park has a new star attraction: Nong Sutket, an 11-month-old golden tiger cub, affectionately known as a “strawberry tiger” due to his unique golden coat. Nong Sutket, the only golden tiger in eastern Thailand, has quickly captured the hearts of visitors with his playful and cheerful personality, setting him apart from other tigers at the park.
Golden tigers are an extremely rare genetic variation, with estimates suggesting fewer than 30 to 50 in the world. Nong Sutket has been at the park since he was just a few months old and is known for his mischievous antics, love of water, and clingy demeanor, especially with his caretaker, Ms. Jaruwan Wonglamai. Tourists who meet him are charmed by his silly, non-threatening nature, which is unusual for a tiger.
The park, home to nearly 90 Indochinese and Bengal tiger hybrids, is open daily to both Thai and international tourists. Entry fees for Thai visitors start at 120 baht, with additional options for hands-on experiences like feeding or interacting with the tigers.
