PATTAYA — A Russian tourist was killed, and his wife seriously injured after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing a road in Pattaya late on January 29, 2025. The motorcycle, ridden by another foreigner, collided with the couple despite a car stopping to allow them to cross.

The accident occurred just before midnight on Jomtien Second Road in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Unit responded to an emergency call at 11:30 p.m., reporting a collision between a large motorcycle and two pedestrians.

Rescue workers arriving at the scene found a KTM 1200cc motorcycle with Bangkok registration plates. The rider, identified as 26-year-old Artem, along with the two Russian pedestrians, sustained serious injuries. The woman, 44-year-old Zhanna, was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. Her husband was found unconscious, and despite CPR efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness, identified as 34-year-old Akadej, stated that he had stopped his vehicle to let the couple cross the street when a motorcycle traveling at high speed approached from behind and struck them.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station’s Dong Tan subdivision are reviewing CCTV footage and awaiting the motorcycle rider’s recovery to proceed with their investigation. Officials present at the scene collected evidence, including the damaged motorcycle, for further legal proceedings.
