Thai Government Introduces Monthly TV Program for Policy Updates

The Thai government is introducing a new television program, #EmpoweringThais, hosted by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, to provide direct updates on policies and national developments. The show, which will be broadcast in Thai, premieres on February 2 and will air on the first Sunday of each month from 8:00 to 8:30 AM on NBT2HD. It will also be available on government radio and television networks, as well as online platforms, including social media and the official government website.

Each episode will cover key government initiatives, ongoing projects, and national challenges. The inaugural broadcast will review the administration’s progress over the past three months, including Prime Minister Paetongtarn’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Other topics will include major policy efforts such as the Baan Pheu Khon Thai housing program and the One District, One Scholarship (ODOS) initiative. The program will also outline strategies for addressing air pollution through long-term measures.

The government has expanded its media outreach to keep the public informed. Alongside #EmpoweringThais, daily updates from ministries will continue, and Voices from Thai Khu Fah will air every Saturday at 8:00 AM on NBT2HD and national radio stations.

Positioned as more than a policy update, #EmpoweringThais aims to foster engagement between the government and the public. Officials hope that by providing regular, transparent communication, the program will strengthen public trust and encourage greater civic participation in national affairs.
