Thai Prime Minister Attends Asian Winter Games Opening in China

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra arrived in Harbin, China, to attend the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games. The event, held from February 7 to 14, features 85 Thai athletes competing across six sports, 11 disciplines, and 64 events. As part of her visit, she will also support Thailand’s men’s ice hockey team in their match against host nation China.

Thailand’s delegation includes athletes from four national sports associations: the Figure and Speed Skating Association of Thailand, the Curling Association of Thailand, the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand, and the Ski and Snowboard Association of Thailand. The country’s participation underscores its commitment to developing winter sports and broadening its athletic achievements internationally.

The Asian Winter Games serve as a platform for Thai athletes to compete at a high level, gain international experience, and promote winter sports within the nation. Officials and representatives from the Thai sports community are also present at the event to support the delegation.
