The 2nd Thailand Road Traffic Safety Forum convened policymakers, industry leaders, and road safety experts to discuss strategies for reducing traffic accidents caused by human behavior. Held under the theme “Countermeasures to Reduce Traffic Accidents Caused by Human Behavior: Education and Awareness Initiatives,” the event focused on improving public education and awareness to enhance road safety.
The Department of Land Transport outlined its ongoing efforts to lower accident rates, emphasizing stricter law enforcement, vehicle safety improvements, revisions to the driver’s licensing process, and public awareness campaigns. A key objective under the National Road Safety Master Plan 2022-2027 is to reduce road fatalities to 12 per 100,000 people by 2027.
Discussions during the forum addressed policy development, training programs, and enforcement measures aimed at preventing accidents. Experts from local and international organizations shared insights on tackling high-risk driving behaviors and strengthening road safety measures.
The event brought together representatives from government agencies, private organizations, and road safety institutions, providing a collaborative space for exchanging knowledge and best practices.
