Thailand’s Longest Glass Skywalk Opens at Samet Nang Chee

Phang Nga has unveiled a new attraction, Beyond Skywalk Nang Chee, now Thailand’s highest and longest glass walkway. Opened in late 2023 at the well-known Samet Nang Chee Viewpoint in Takua Thung District, the skywalk offers visitors panoramic views of Phang Nga Bay and its limestone formations. The 180-meter-long glass walkway, elevated 80 meters above sea level, is built with triple-layer glass that can support up to 500 kilograms per square meter, accommodating up to 1,500 visitors at a time.

Since its discovery as a viewpoint in 2016, Samet Nang Chee has become a popular year-round destination for both Thai and international tourists due to its 180-degree views of the Andaman coastline. The new Beyond Skywalk Nang Chee enhances the experience, allowing visitors to take in a 360-degree perspective of the region’s natural beauty.

Beyond the skywalk, the site features a variety of accommodations, including Seaview Tents, Forest Tents, and luxury villas. Visitors can dine at Rab Tawan Restaurant, Horizon Restaurant, and Kanda Café. Admission to the skywalk costs 700 baht per person, with 200 baht redeemable as credit for dining.

The name Samet Nang Chee originates from a local legend involving monks and a nun who once lived in the area. Over time, the name evolved from “Hemed Nang Chee” to its current form.

The launch event was attended by Kritsanakorn Ngenpia, General Manager of Beyond Skywalk Nang Chee, along with local officials and tourism representatives.
