Lost 10-Year-Old Girl Found Unconscious After 10 Hours in Forest

A 10-year-old girl who went missing for more than 10 hours in a forested area of Trat Province was found unconscious but breathing weakly by rescue teams on March 5, 2025. The girl, identified as Nong Liap, had been sent by her father to deliver food to her mother earlier that morning but failed to return, prompting an extensive search effort.

Authorities received the distress call at 4:30 p.m., after the girl’s family—of Laotian-Cambodian descent—had been unable to locate her. According to Mr. Nin, 31, the child’s father, the girl was last seen at 8:19 a.m. when her mother, Mrs. Nit, 25, confirmed she had delivered the food. However, when she did not return within 30 minutes, her family began searching but could not find her. Concerned for her safety, they contacted local police and rescue teams for assistance.

A coordinated search effort involving police, rescue workers, and local volunteers lasted over four hours. Eventually, the girl was discovered lying under a rubber tree, exhausted and unresponsive. Rescue workers provided first aid at the scene before transporting her to Khao Saming Hospital. Medical staff later confirmed that she was in stable condition.

The search effort involved officers from Khao Saming Police Station and volunteers from the Sawang Boon Rescue Association of Trat Province. The incident highlights the challenges of navigating dense forested areas and the importance of rapid response in missing persons cases.
