On May 15, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched the “Amazing Krabi Green Guide Fest 2025,” a four-day eco-tourism festival in Krabi Province, with the goal of promoting the region as a global model for sustainable tourism. Held at Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park from May 15 to 18, the event is part of a broader initiative to position Krabi as a leading green destination and is expected to generate at least 35 million baht in tourism revenue.

The festival is a core activity under the Krabi Prototype project, developed in cooperation with public and private stakeholders across the tourism sector. It aims to promote the concept of sustainable tourism in alignment with international priorities. The event emphasizes environmental awareness through the concept of a Carbon Neutral Event, incorporating activities and infrastructure designed to minimize ecological impact while supporting local economies.
Visitors can explore experiences tied to Thailand’s “5 Must Do” and “7 Greens” tourism strategies, which include a wide range of themed activities. These encompass Green Recreation, such as yoga and sound healing; Green Music, featuring performances by local and national artists; Green Food, focused on local and eco-conscious cuisine; and Green Art, displaying works made from recycled materials. Additional segments include Green Learning for sustainable tourism education, Green Society as a networking hub for eco-minded individuals, and Green Tourism, which introduces low-carbon travel routes in the area.

Organizers have implemented a number of environmentally conscious practices at the event, including the use of renewable energy, sustainable materials in food service and decorations, and waste separation systems. Emissions from the festival are being calculated and offset through the purchase of carbon credits, in accordance with carbon neutrality certification standards.
Krabi Governor Angkoon Silathewakul noted that the province is well-prepared to host both Thai and international visitors, highlighting its natural assets such as beaches, forests, and islands, and reaffirming a commitment to tourism that involves local communities and preserves the environment. The TAT anticipates over 5,000 tourists will attend the event.
Officials attending the launch included Angkoon Silathewakul, Governor of Krabi Province, and Akkarawit Thepasit, Director of Tourism Industry Investment Promotion at the TAT.
